BUENA, N.J. (AP) — The body of a fourth victim has been found after he Explosion and fire It destroyed a New Jersey home and seriously injured two children, who were pulled from the fire by civilians, authorities say.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the Thursday morning explosion in Buena, about 40 miles (70 kilometers) southeast of Philadelphia. It damaged several nearby homes, but no other injuries were reported.
Authorities had earlier said that those likely in the home at the time were two men, ages 52 and 73, two children, a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. A 1-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl who were removed from the fire by civilians were airlifted to a Philadelphia hospital, police said, where the infant is in critical condition and the teen is in stable condition.
The authorities did not release the names of the victims or say if they were related.
Franklin Township Police said three of the four missing persons were found dead under the rubble by 8 p.m. Thursday. The body of the fourth victim was found around 2pm Friday at the base of the burned building.
