Pence later dismissed the notion that Trump supporters “are a violent bunch” during a Jan. 6 question at the event, WMUR-TV reported in New Hampshire.
“I reject your suggestion that passion has translated into violence and vandalism,” he said.
“I know the people of this movement – whether they support me or not, (they are) the best people in this country.”
The harassment comes on the heels of Pence’s criticism of Trump in the wake of his most recent indictment, calling for “A group of criminal lawyersfor his request to decline a vote in his appearance on Fox News on Wednesday.
